Welcome to The Black Boy, Winchester.

Covid-19 Update:

We are very sorry to announce that we will be closed from Monday 23rd March 2020 until further notice.

We will not be contactable via email or telephone until we have a re-opening date which will be announced here.

Tucked away on Wharf Hill, off Chesil Street in Winchester, The Black Boy is still faithful to its origins. Although recognised in most of the well known beer and pub guides,  it is still a traditional back-street boozer.

The pub has 5 locally brewed real ales and a small selection of good French wines.  Good ‘pub grub’ is available from Tuesday through to Sunday lunch.  During the winter months roasts are served on Sundays with lighter lunches being offered during the summer.

On the off-chance there is a summer,  there is a sheltered rustic garden with heaters.

Opening hours are:
Monday – Thursday     12.00pm – 23.00pm
Friday & Saturday     12.00pm – 00.00am
Sunday     12.00pm – 22.30pm

Food is available as follows:

Tuesday – Friday     12.00pm – 2.00pm
Saturday     12.00pm – 2.30pm
Sunday     12.00pm – 2.00pm

(Please note: Sunday Roasts are only served until we sell out – please come early to avoid disappointment)
