Welcome to The Black Boy, Winchester.
Welcome to The Black Boy, Winchester.
Tucked away on Wharf Hill, off Chesil Street, we’re a proper back-street boozer — and proud of it. No frills, no reservations, no pretensions. Just a traditional pub full of character, curious things, and four locally brewed cask ales on the go.
Wander through our warren of rooms and you’ll find taxidermy, fire buckets, vintage signs, a ceiling covered in reclaimed doors, and more oddities than you can take in on one visit. There’s a log fire burning most of the year, a sheltered garden with heaters for when the weather plays along, and a games cupboard if you fancy a board game with your pint. Dogs are always welcome.
Street Food
Hot Hog serve up pizza from our garden shed on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. No need to book — just turn up, grab a pint, and order from the shed.
What We Pour
Four real ales from local breweries, always rotating — plus a good selection of lagers, ciders, soft drinks, low alcohol, and an extensive range of spirits, as well as coffee and tea. Ask at the bar for what’s on today.
