Welcome to The Black Boy, Winchester.
It is with huge regret that we have decided not to open on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve this year. With the uncertainty surrounding Covid and its new variants, we feel that it is not the time to put profit above safety. As you can imagine, this was not an easy decision to make, especially after such a hard 18 months, but with the limited information available we feel it is better to make the decision now than leave an air of uncertainty. Again we can only apologise and assure you that we feel we are doing this for the good of everyone.
We wish you all a very Happy Christmas and New Year.
The only changes to opening hours over the festive period are:
Christmas Eve – Shut all day
Christmas Day – Shut all day
Boxing Day – Open from 6pm
New Years Eve – Shut all day
New Years Day open from 6pm
Please be aware that we don’t take any bookings or serve any food except for Pizzas on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. These are cooked by Pizza Polizia, a local based business
Tucked away on Wharf Hill, off Chesil Street in Winchester, The Black Boy is still faithful to its origins. Although recognised in most of the well known beer and pub guides, it is still a traditional back-street boozer.
The pub has 5 locally brewed real ales and a small selection of good wines.
On the off-chance there is a summer, there is a sheltered rustic garden with heaters.
Opening hours are currently:
Monday – Friday: 12:00pm – 2:30pm & 5:00pm – 23:00pm
Saturday: 12.00pm – 23.00pm
Sunday: 12.00pm – 22.30pm
